Resevoir in britain, english countryside, sun flare on water ripples in the early spring and summer. Riverbank or lake would do too.It's a long dark journey from Autumn to Spring in the UK, but over the last couple of weeks we've been lucky enough to hold on to the sun's last rays until after we've braved the rush hour home. Spring is coming, it'll be here before you know it! In celebration of March, here are some cheery, spring time Instagram photos from my account, @PromisingYellow. . .

Last month was Valentine's Day and boyfriend followed my not so subtle hints to buy me this gorgeous bouquet of flowers. It makes such a difference to a room and they've brough so much colour and cheer to my kitchen. ^__^


Valentines day biscuits or cookies with chocolate frosting in heart shapes. Chocolate shortbread, scones and chocolate chip.

...and in turn I baked boyfriend a d basket of goodies! Scones, shortbread, jam filled biscuits, oatie hearts and chocolate shortbread - delish!

RAINBOW!! - one of the few good things about dark, dreary, wet weather. I still get excited for rainbows!

If in doubt - wear the springtime on your nails. A W7 glitter over a peachy avon colour.

Last summer; a baking hot morning, sitting in the sunshine in my back garden, listening to a Ricky Gervais podcast from back in the day and enjoying breakfast. I see this photo and I'm back there, warm and relaxed.

Biathlon - A Beginner's Guide

Biathlon; cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. It's an exciting sport; it can all change on one missed shot , racers dance past each other up hills steeper than stair cases . There are mountains, snow and beautiful forests of firs . Although I've never actually skied on real snow, I'm addicted to it - this is the exciting world of Biathlon. The season runs from November to around March with world championships as the highlight. It's the perfect Christmas sport! Little Christmas trees are sprinkled around the courses, the crowds are bundled up in woolly hats and scarves, the huge fir trees are weighed down by heavy snowfall and each venue is surrounded by dramatic mountain ranges. Sometimes the snow is falling during the race - a great sport to watch with a cup of hot chocolate! The biathlon tour moves weekly to venues especially created and prepared months in advance for the races. Whilst there, 4 types of races selected from a possible 6 will be held. Skiers ...

When you get into the world of blogging, as a blogger or a reader, you very quickly realise how positive the blogging world is . I don't mean to say that everyone who writes a blog has a charmed, wonderful life - we don't, but the posts they choose to write are almost always positive. Even when the topics aren't, there's always a silver lining running through; gaining strength, turning things around, staying hopeful, finding inspiration. Over the last year when life has looked bleak, I've been really thankful to have access to that positive world. I started blogging in August 2014 after enjoying so many of the other great (usually girly) blogs out there. Once you start writing and promoting, you find yourself engaging with other bloggers, noticing their tweets, commenting on posts and discovering that there are literally hundreds of us all over the world!
